FrameSource Sourcing buyer notes

These notes show how a brand search becomes a building brief. They are not reviews of a named company, and they are not quotations. Dates are publication dates for the note.

Read a note as a worksheet

Copy a heading into your own file and replace every sample dimension with the figure on your drawing. A sentence that mentions a clear span is a prompt to write your span, with the unit beside it. Leaving the sample number in place creates a false requirement.

Keep wind speed, ground snow load and seismic design category on separate lines from the price. A note cannot see the county. If the note names ASCE 7, open the edition your authority uses rather than treating the name as permission to build.

Shell, delivered and installed descriptions in a note are labels for columns. They are not three prices FrameSource Sourcing has collected. Freight and erection stay in their own sentences so a logistics difference is not mistaken for a lighter frame.

Author names, when the system prints them, identify who drafted the worksheet. They are not the engineer of record. A missing byline does not turn the note into an anonymous approval. Pagination links keep a trailing slash so the list stays on the blog path.

When two notes share a publication date, that is editorial. It does not mean the buildings were quoted together. Open questions move to the contact form. Catalog labels are selected on the options page. Neither step is finished by reading the index.

Purlin spacing and girt spacing, if a note mentions them, are reminders to ask the quoting factory which secondary members it priced. Cold-formed steel and hot-rolled steel should not be swapped in your copy of the note without a written reply. Foundation interface, transport envelope and crane lift plan are logistics lines. They do not change the occupancy of a warehouse or a camp by themselves.

FrameSource Sourcing publishes the index so a buyer can prepare a cleaner request. The notes do not assign stock and do not certify a producer. If a sentence conflicts with the specification in your hand, the specification wins until a proposed supplier confirms the system in writing.
